Welcome to the Edit + Modify filter collection: a growing library of free image presets designed to help photographers, designers, artists, and everyday image-makers transform the look and feel of their photographs. Built around experimentation, accessibility, and visual range, the collection brings together a wide selection of aesthetics, tones, textures, and moods that can be used across different kinds of photographic work.

Unlike many preset libraries, every filter in the Edit + Modify collection is completely free. There are no locked packs, premium tiers, or hidden downloads. Within each category, you can choose to download individual presets, a complete category set, or the full catalogue if you want to explore the entire collection at once. The aim is to make image-making tools more open, flexible, and generous, allowing users to test, adapt, and build their own visual language without cost becoming a barrier.

The filters are designed in Adobe Lightroom, but they can be used across a range of editing workflows and compatible software. Each preset is crafted to provide a distinct starting point for editing, whether you are working with portraits, landscapes, street photography, documentary images, still life, visual research, or personal projects. They are made to be adaptable rather than restrictive, giving users room to adjust exposure, contrast, colour, grain, and tone to suit each image.

Each category explores a different visual direction. Some collections focus on black and white conversion, deep contrast, and tonal separation. Others use warm colour palettes, cooler hues, faded highlights, soft shadows, high grain, low contrast, muted saturation, or cinematic colour shifts. Together, they offer a broad set of tools for shaping atmosphere, rhythm, and emotional tone within an image.

The collection draws inspiration from professional film photography, cinematic colour grading, analogue printing, editorial imagery, and experimental image processes. The presets are not intended to act as exact replicas of specific film stocks. Instead, they are carefully constructed interpretations of visual qualities associated with film, photographic texture, colour response, and analogue imperfection. They are designed to suggest a mood rather than imitate a material with scientific precision.

Edit + Modify is built around the idea that filters should not simply decorate an image, but help guide its visual intention. A preset can soften a moment, intensify a scene, flatten colour, deepen shadow, introduce grain, shift temperature, or bring a quieter sense of atmosphere to an image. Used lightly, the filters can provide subtle refinement. Used more strongly, they can create a distinctive aesthetic identity across a wider body of work.

The library is also intended as a resource for experimentation. Users can apply presets as they are, modify them, combine them with their own adjustments, or use them as learning tools to understand how colour, contrast, tone curves, and texture affect the feel of a photograph. In this way, the collection supports both quick editing and more reflective visual exploration.

Each collection will eventually contain 100 presets, making Edit + Modify one of the largest and most expansive free image filter libraries available. As the catalogue grows, it will continue to offer a wide range of styles, from subtle everyday corrections to more expressive, cinematic, and atmospheric looks. The goal is to create an open archive of visual possibilities: a practical editing resource that invites users to explore, adapt, and develop their own photographic language.
